Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall

A wonderful architectural landmark, a grand hall, and the giant statue of Chinese leader Sun Yat Sen await every visitor in this compound. Getting inside the Sun Yat Sen grounds costs a mere RMB10. You’ll find interesting trees and plants in its grounds. But the breathtaking view is the octagonal-shaped hall that is in itself a work of art.

People behind the building of the hall really put a lot of effort, skill and talent into what now is known as the Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall. It pays tribute to the Chinese leader and other Chinese who are genius builders.

International and national performers perform in the great hall. Thousands of people can be accommodated in this venue. The hall also exhibits the works of Sun Yat Sen.

The Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall

The Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall is situated on the original site of Sun Yat Sen's Presidential Office. It was built with funds raised by the local people and overseas Chinese to commemorate Dr. Sun Yat Sen, the great forerunner of the Chinese revolution. He is the first president of the Republic.

The memorial hall has magnificent exterior and elegant interior decorations. The whole building--octagonal in shape--is of a typical Chinese architectural style. Behind the large building is a smaller one that is dedicated to a short history of Guang Zhou. There is also a 5-meter-high bronze statue of Dr. Sun in front of the hall. The Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall is surrounded by beautiful, vast landscapes of trees, tree sculptures, and flowers, giving it a feel of vitality, vibrancy, and grandeur.

Dr. Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall

The hall was completed in 1931 to honour the first Provisional President of Communist China. The building is an octagonal structure built in traditional Chinese style and contains a 4700 seat auditorium for theatre performances.

The hall (built on the site of the building where Dr. Sun took power) is set in a small park, but is easily accesible.
