This was an unplanned venture down the river. We went to the riverside to have a good seafood dinner. The food was great, but the ordering was very different. All the animals are live and kept in cages. You use your finger to point and they will serve it up to you grilled and season or in a small sauce, etc. It was hard to see such animal as small dogs, cats, bunnies, rats, and many more in cages waiting for their end. The seafood was fresh and delicious. I even tried a sea bug that looks like a small black cockroach that floats in the ocean. To eat this bug, you put the whole thing in your mouth and crunch down on the body. The goal is to eat the inner parts and spit the outer shell out. After filling ourselves with good food, we saw the boats that float along the river. Just blocks from where we ate, we hopped on a boat and spent the next hour seeing the bright lights of the city.
Guangzhou is one of the largest cities in China and the tall building show off neon lights and bright advertising signs. The city has a large nightlife and you can check out some of the clubs from the river. The Pearl River is the main river that runs through the city and you have to remember that the city if one of the main import/export spots of China.
This was the best way to see the city, to abosrb the nightlife, and to be dazzled by the bright lights.
