This part is not for the budget minded! Absolutely beautiful! Although crowded, you never knew it standing in lift lines, they were minimal! They know how to handle the people, the ski area is large enough to handle a crowd! The only time the crowding was evident, was stopping to eat. The skiing is incredible! The views are magnificent!

Skiers have a few options when staying in Banff for skiing the Canadian Rockies. Sunshine is one, and I am glad we went to be able to know we preferred other areas nearby rather than wonder. They got really high marks for the enclosed lifts and the easy ski-rack loading (with assistance!) mounted on the outside of the gondola. The ride to the drop point was inexorable, though, and the confusion at the top as to where the trails went was disappointing. The conditions were favorable, but the resort seemed to lack the "oomph" of what we had hoped for in a grand getaway to the Canadian Rockies. We next visited Lake Louise, and we went back there every day we could before leaving.

Although we'd been to Lake Louise a few times, we decided that we wanted more to do at night in the way of restaurants.

One advantage of flying from UK is that you are wide awake early in the morning. To be on the first lift up the mountain while it is dark is a great feeling. It is good to be on top of the mountain while watching the sunrise.

The slopes are wide-open above the tree lines, with a good view of where you need to go. The snow is all natural, so there is no noise from snow machines ruining the natural beauty of the place.

The food is good, with a wide range of food. Compared to UK prices, it is also very cheap.

No ID is required for the bars, and children can sit with you too if you are eating. I am going again this February.

It is a paradise for anyone that enjoys the winter weather. There are ski instructors that are very willing to help anyone, and there is an excellent restaurant that you are able to ski into right off the hill.

The middle of the national park is so very underdeveloped. Massive ski areas are linked by buses, but a car is handy for visiting other areas. The exchange rate made it very cheap for Europeans.
