The Sunderland was built in 1885 and was used in the remake of the movie 'Captains Courageous'. It's something like 110' long and sails like a dream. The crew is dressed up like pirates and even fire cannons at passing ships (they shoot wadded up newspaper). The captain tells the tell of the real local pirates...Sir Frances Drake (before he was knighted) and Cavindish. After sailing around Land's End, the ship throws anchor near Lover's Beach so you can snorkel (this is the best area to see many colors of fish).
