Jungle Cruise

The Jungle cruise from the marina was a blast! A great crew, a great trip. The cruise leaves the southeast end of the marina at about 9 or 10am (hey, it's Mexico). We cruised through the bay over to Santa Maria Cove, where we snorkeled and then had a great lunch aboard the boat. After this, we had a leisurely cruise back to Cabo past the Arch at Lands End.

During the entire cruise there was rock'n'roll music playing, and the crew was very entertaining with their leaping antics. There were unlimited drinks available, from weak margaritas to a variety of beers, sodas, and of course bottled water. A couple of passengers even tried their best at a beer bomb, where a large funnel with a stop clock at the bottom and attached to a rubber hose was filled with the contents of a beer bottle. Then the end of the hose was placed in your mouth, the stop clock turned on, and the beer flowed into your mouth at a very rapid rate. Only avid beer drinkers need try this.

The boat stopped at a sandy beach area south of the Cabo Marina, and we got off the boat and swam around again.

Jungle Snorkeling Cruise

The crew on the ship made this trip great. The cruise leaves from the marina at 10:30am and returns at 2:30pm. As you are leaving the marina, the bar opens and the party begins. As you follow the coast towards Santa Maria Bay, the crew cranks up the music and there is nothing but fun to be had during this excursion. Once you reach the bay (which takes about 45-50 minutes), you are given brief instructions and are able to snorkel along the rocks and reef or just go up to the beach. The snorkeling was fabulous, with clear water, plenty of fish, and colorful reefs (be sure to take an underwater camera -- disposable Fuji works great). I believe we were there for approximately one hour, then a light lunch is served and the drinking continues as you start heading for Land’s End, Pelican's Rock, and Lover's Beach. Once you reach Lover's Beach, you are given the option to get in the water and cool off (and believe me, after drinking for the past 3 hours, the water felt great). The crew members made one more stop and showed off their diving skills from the top of Pelican's Rock, which I was not about to try considering I had been drinking nonstop the entire trip. This trip is well worth the time and money.
