It was a thrill getting out on the Sea Of Cortez and learning to paddle with a friend. Once we got the rhythem, we were speeding across the water headed for El Arco. As we approached the arch of rock, we could see things moving on the rocks and in the water. It was a gaggle of sea lions cavorting in, out and around the rocks. Our excitment took us in closer but it was obvious that they didn't mind as the ones sunny themselves just stayed put or stared at us as if to say "You want something?"
We journied around the point and down to Lover's beach but since this was our first kayak adventure, we decided to head back. Thank goodness for the bottled water we took along! The wind was against us on the return and it took twice as long to get in as it did to get out. At one point, we were paddling hard and sitting still- or maybe moving backwards. It was time to rest, drink, regroup and then paddle for all we were worth. We did get back safely and though tired, we went out again. When I returned home, I had had so much fun, I bought a kayak. Try it! You will love it and Cabo is the perfect place to do it!
