ATV Rider Adventure

We decided to take a trip to the ATV tour to the old lighthouse (which by the way is not that old!!); this tour departures from just in front of Plaza Las Glorias Hotel. Well, the best tour for you must be the sunset trip, which leaves at 4pm. Why this is the best? Because you will be able spend all by the pool or the beach and by 4pm, the sun is not that strong. You will be riding your own ATV through this sand desert road ‘til you get to this lonely beach, which is protected by the Mexican government. This place has two racing tracks if you are traveling with a group, but the highlight of the tour must be the AWESOME sunset view from this beach! Your can bring an ice box and some beers!

This is one activity in Los Cabos you simply cannot miss. Plan an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) tour for earlier in your stay, as you will surely want to do it again! We made the mistake of making reservations to do this on the day prior to our departure.

We signed up for the "Old Lighthouse Tour." After our group of about 20 people received a brief orientation of how to operate the ATVs, we took a short ride up to a ridge of dunes . . . and once over that ridge there were expansive, pristine dunes over looking the Pacific Ocean. On the other side of the ridge, there were desert trails of varying degrees of difficulty that you could explore to your liking. For two hours, you'll gleefully bounce your way over these beautiful dunes and trails. You can also investigate the "Old Lighthouse" located on the beach. Take your camera (we didn't and regretted it!). It was LOADS of fun . . . the guides were great, and the ATVs are easy to handle once you get the swing of it.

I can't remember the name of the company but they are right across from the marina and the hotel Finestera. Awesome!!! They get a convoy of the ATVers together and you ride to the sand dunes. The dune is right off the coast. You enter at the top of a hill. Looking down, the dune spreads out before you, beyond the dune the ocean roars. The salty wind whips around you as you plunge into the dune at 35mph! You ride for about 40 minutes before they round you up and take you back! Not too expensive, and worth the memories.

This was a BLAST! Even my mother and father-in-law kept up! The 3-hour tour on the beach and through the sand dunes was so much fun, we went twice and bought the shirt! WARNING: Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, 'cause you even find sand in your underwear. Also, cover your camera with a towel, even in a backpack; it got dirty. We framed our group pictures that we took at some of the scenic spots--make sure you take one. This was everyone's favorite part of the vacation!
