Description: Nestled along the Paluxy River, Dinosaur Valley State Park boasts over 1,500 acres of beautifully preserved parkland, perfect for an afternoon out in Granbury. The park is famous for the ancient dinosaur tracks in its riverbed, not to mention its somewhat kitschy 1960s fiberglass 70-foot Apatosaurus and 45-foot Tyrannasaurus Rex models. Popular activities in the park include camping, picnicking, hiking, mountain biking, river swimming, fishing and wildlife watching. The park is home to Texan fauna like white tailed deer, coyote, bobcat, raccoon, beaver, skunk, opossum, Armadillo, fox squirrel, rabbits and various lizards and snakes, in addition to the endangered Golden-Cheek Warbler and the Black-Capped Vireo.
