The Great American Melodrama & Vaudeville

It was a great, old fashioned shoot 'em up and knock 'em dead western. Four of us adults went, not knowing what to expect as we had never been to a melodrama. The floor is covered with sawdust and located in the center are cabert tables. There are bench like seating arrangements along the walls.

The cast was magnificent. They offer a snack bar of various foods. We ordered a pitcher of pink lemonade (very delicious) and a large popcorn for the four of us. Beware, the popcorn is huge! The cast are the ones taking your order and dishing up the food. If you tip at the end of the line, they ring their bell and sing a song for you. It was great fun. My husband had to do it and got a tickle out of them singing.

The cast doesn't stop there. Not only do they put on the show, take your order, and dish it up, but do the cleaning up as well. It was something.

After the show was over they announced another intermission. We didn't understand but hung around anyway. That is when they put on their Vaudeville act. It is kind of like Hee Haw. It was fun and clean for everyone. They sing, dance, tell jokes, and it is amazing how all of them had to play an instrument.

I highly recommend going for a last night on your stay. There doesn't seem to be many places left where you can go for good clean fun. We had a great time.
