The Haus der Geschichte charts Germany's history from 1945 to the present day, mainly focusing on the divide between East and West and Germany's rise from post-poverty to post-wall prosperity. The best thing to do in the museum is to get a guided tour around the museum. This is ideal for groups, as everyone in the group gets given a radio headset, which means that you can still hear the guide's commentary even if you are at the back of the group.
When my school group was told that we were going to a Museum of History, everyone groaned with anticipated boredom, but we were all pleasantly suprised by the museum's ability to show so many facts in such an interesting and informative way.
I would recommend this museum to anyone who is interested in the Cold War, the history of Germany, or just modern history, and particularly to people who remember the Berlin Wall.
