Don't Get Scammed by This Company Like I Did!

I made reservations on the Canaveral Star to go fishing, when I arrived in port Canaveral I was told that I was at the correct place, the price was the same but there was a fuel surcharge for $10, spot for $5, plus tax and before the boat leaves they sell you specialty bait to catch the big ones for $25 maybe 2 pounds of bait. However before we departed I received a phone call to where I was supposed to be and they wanted to know if we were still going fishing. When I tried to get my money back I was told that there were no refunds, so we decided to give the the miss Cape Canaveral a try. What a mistake, we never started fishing until 11 o'clock, the food they give you that's included is horrible, however, for more money you can buy food that at least looks edible, as to the fishing that was a joke also there was a very small handful of fish caught on the entire boat. When we got back to the dock I complained about the poor fishing that day and I was told they had an alternative captain on the boat that day and their senior captain would be there the next day and I could go for half price, why would this company use an alternative captain the people on the boat didn't pay less for that.

It gets better, on the way back to Orlando I decided to call and ask what the miss cape canaveral caught for the day, now remember I was on this boat all day, I was told they caught 8 grouper 100's of snapper and a bunch of cobia. If I wasn't on that boat that day I would have signed up in a heartbeat.

I should have known when the boat I was supposed to be and told me if the miss cape canaveral out fish's their boat they would give me a free fishing trip. I decide to take them up on their offer, when they came in and hung their fish there was no question they had a better day of fishing. The price this boat quotes you is the price you pay and all the bait is included, the bait I paid $25 for is included at no additional price.

Stay far away from this company, the only thing they are interested in is your money.

I went aboard the Miss Cape, not once but twice and I do have to say it was a blast! Not only was the crew great but we caught fish as well. The new discounts they provide really save you on your total ticket price. Grant it might be more expensive now then in the past, but the person I spoke with in the office was up front and honest about it. So no hidden fees...... As far as the food provided, its actually pretty decent believe me I have picky children and not one of them complained. Maybe you all should ask more questions when you call up to the miss cape, you may get better answers and better service. Over all I know when my family and I travel back to cocoa beach fla we will be aboard the Miss Cape Canaveral once again! Thank you for the great time Miss Cape!!!!

Stay Away: Hidden Fees Many Unadvertisede Extras

I bought my tickets through the Military ticket office for $55 and $53.00 for my senior father in law. When we showed up we had to pay a $10 fuel charge, $5 tax and $5 meal ticket. Oh, you can also buy a $20 box of anchovies to give you an edge over the rest of the people that just use the bait that is included in the ticket price. I had called 3 days prior to make my reservations and none of the extra charges were mentioned. I was with another person that bought his ticket that morning, there was an advertised special of $20 of your ticket, then they stick you with all the fees. His $20 discount became a $3 discount.
The price of the ticket includes breakfast, lunch and 2 beers and snacks. Breakfast was very small and not very good, but there was a menu you could order off of for a fat price. Lunch was better cheese burger and chips and a drink. Each person is allowed 2 free beers, however, your only choice is Natural lite and Busch. But feel free to purchase Bud lite, Miller lite BUD for $4 a piece.
You have to travel 2 1/2 hours before you hit your first spot. Once you are there 50 people are packed on the boat and you stand side by side and have about 6' between each other. If a fish is caught chances are the 3 people on either side of you were going get tangled up, which makes you wait for the deck hands to take the fish off and untangle the lines. If you were to accidentally drop a pole over the side pull out your credit card because it will cost you $65. We fished a 3 1/2 hours before we turned around for our 2 1/2 our trip back, when all the snacks are gone more are for sale. The best part about it was that we took no fish home. There was a total of 12 fish for 47 people and only 3 that you would think they came from deep sea fishing.
When you get back to the dock they will clean your fish and charge you a dollar a pound plus more tips. Don't forget to tip the deck hands and cook who work for tips alone. By the way, if you purchased a $20 box of bait they take what you don't use and use it for the next trip.

Horrible Experience

We went out on their night fishing trip on a friday night and the boat did not catch anything (it was horrible) so they said we could all come back the next night for 1/2 off the price. The workers said they had a substitute captain on board that night and it is why we didn't catch anything. We decided to go out for the 1/2 off since we would be going back home from our vacation the following day. Well, we went back out the next night and still caught NOTHING . Not just us but other people on the boat caught nothing. They tried to use the same excuse even though it was a different captain. Save your money and stay very far away with miss cape canaveral and anyone associated with this operation. i should have had a clue when i saw the big sign that said "NO REFUNDS" i hope i can save someone a bad experience.

Being as it was their first fishing trip, we decided to go on a group charter versus renting a single boat for ourselves. The fishing was great. The boat caught about 60 fish for the day including a 4 foot Baracuda, 2 Mahi Mahi Dolfins and plenty of other good eating fish.
