I realise that I am not being objective when I write about this zoo. I have many great and now partially faded memories of my youth in this local zoo. It is only 27 years old, so I have seen it grow to the size it is now (a never to be underestimated 60,000m squared. )
It has an aquarium, a botanical garden, a couple of Sri Lankan tigers, bisons, and tarantulas. There are well over 450 species. It is not bad for a private zoo. In fact, you might even get to see the owner or the vet running around with injections or baby food for the latest animal born in captivity.
