Description: I still had hours to kill near the Frankfurt Airport before check-in to Stuttgart. I was determined to experience as much of my childhood memories as possible within a relatively short span of time. What better way than to jump on the S-bahn. The tracked above ground city train system. It was like spinning the bottle at the station, with so many short routes to take in any direction of the city. I headed west to Schlossbon, which turned out to be a perfect choice. Just one stop and I was walking off the train facing a veritable forest in the city. The wooden plaque said "Schlossbon Park." It was a mix of fir trees and regular leaved trees, giving it a dark touch. That sight and hearing a German family speaking with friends caused many memories to surface within myself. I even had to think about "Haensel und Gretel" one of the most famous German fairy tales. It was a true getaway. I haven't felt so far away from work and job pressure in a long time. I kicked a few pine cones, enjoyed the fresh air, and sought a park bench to eat my freshly baked broetchen I had picked up from the bakery. This was a slice of heaven. And I knew those hours I had to kill just turned to minutes in my mind.
