Description: This tour was the best attraction and defently worth the money. How ever make sure you spend a little extra and get the Gold Class Ticket and a ride back and forth from your hotel. The Kuranda Sky Rail is a beautifull train ride up the mountian in the Daintree Rainforest to a small village called (you guessed it) Kuranda. The train is old fashoned but does not feel that way if your sitting in your own plush chair in the Gold Class cabin. The other cabins are all benches that fit about 4 normal people or three to two people with elbow room. The gold class cabin also gives you tasty little treats and drinks for breakfast.(all part of the price) The views as your climbing the mountain are spectacular and easy to get a picture from your seat. From the waterfall to the rainforest there is nothing quite like this.
Once you reach the top and visit the village (you get about 2-3 hours to do so.) it is neat. There are several restraunts to choose from. Small vendors are better though. The butterfly garden was amazing, the Koala reserve was fun and lets you hold one to get a picture. They even have an exhibit for the boys, of insects from the rainforest. The only thing this place doesn't have is the Kangaroos or Walabees. Then on your way back you should take the Sky rail and ride your way down the mountain. There is a stop in the middle where you can take a short 20 minute guided tour of the Rainforest and get another view of the waterfall. I recomend doing it all. This trip was well worth every penny spent! Hope you have enough batteries for your camera!
