On the latter beach it is possible to go round to the seaside pub at Porth Dinllaen, which would really be a find if the rest of the world's population did not think so as well. Trying to walk to it along the top of the little jutting out peninsula is not advised, unless you get a kick out of golf balls at high velocity whizzing past your ears.
The beaches are good though and there are shops nearby, and if you do not mind crowds they are great, but they are not quite my scene. To be fair, however, on a peninsula where most of the best places are not disabled-friendly, they are easier than most for to get to, and obviously many people love them or they would not be so crowded.
