This is the greatest roller coaster park I've ever been to. The line for the new maverick roller coaster was long but it was worth the wait. I now regret not going on millenium force because one person who I went with said it was his favorite. I would definitely recommend this for thrill seekers everywhere.

This is a typical theme park, but has a few coasters that you can't find anywhere else. If you can handle long lines, then it is way worth your wait. We enjoyed ourselves and have been to every Six Flags, Disney, Universal, and other major theme parks and enjoyed the special coasters here. Try and get there early to avoid major lines on the big coasters, the popular ones are busy all day long, so do them when the lines are down. We did not stay for the night show because we were in line for one last ride. We did eat lunch and dinner at the park, obviously it was sort of overpriced, but was good overall. This is an amusementpark, so if you are not going to be amused, then don't go! I hate reading reviews from people who know what they signed up for, and then are upset later. sorry, it just irk's me when people do that. We also used the pet check and were very happy with it! it was only $15 for the whole day, you have to walk your animal, they will provide food and water. Just get your hand stamped to go back once you leave to walk your pet, or if you go to eat at the picnic pavillion. Very nice area by the way if you are in a large group and need to bring lunches. Our pup escaped twice in the pet check, but they were able to get her back in a kennel. It's Kennels in a closed door room, so she couldn't go far. She is too smart for her own good, she knows how to open latch gates. Other than that we had an awesome trip and it was really cool to be on a coaster over the park, look around and see the lake with sailboats out, too cool!

Cedar Point: America's Roller Coast

Cedar Point is supposedly the Best Amusement Parl in the world, but it sure does not got my vota as a place I would choose to go. Sure I agree it is a great deal for roller coaster thrill seekers. I, however, prefer a more wholesome ride experience than just a quick adrenaline rush and I just do not even get that from roller coasters. Thus this place leaves much to be desired for people like me, although it is not an entire bust. Bottom line is if you do not like roller coasters and are too old/tall for the kiddie rides than this probably is not worth visiting unless you do not mind waiting while others in your group go on rides. Now that is not something that bothers me, but boy can it get kind of miserable on a hot and humid day like it was when I visited Cedar Point in June.

I cannot really review most of the rides from personal experience because I do not understand what is so thrilling about roller coasters and did not go on many. I did go on three of the supposedly tamer ones, though. One was the Jr. Gemini, which is for kids and is a total joke of a coaster. Basically kiddie coasters at county fairs are more thrilling than this one.

Another roller coaster I went on was the Mine Ride. This is more of a normal kiddie roller coaster that amusement/theme parks have. It is certainly not as tame as the Jr. Gemini, but it is not all that wild either. In that I mean it is slow enough/long enough you have enough time to get to enjoying it while your still on it. It does not have any really big drops and is mostly just turns, although it is a little bit of a rough ride.

The other roller coaster I went on was a little wilder with a kind of big drop at the beginning and some wild turns and dips into steam, but it is a smooth ride. This is a steel track coaster with the ride cars hanging below. This one is an okay roller coaster for the not so thrill seekers like me, but it is overall too quick of a ride and does not give much of an experience unless the line is short and you can go on multiple times in a row, which we did do towards the end of the day.

Beyond roller coasters the rides are kind of limited, although there are some non-kiddie rides to enjoy if you do not mind heights or spinning rides. One such ride I went on was the Giant Wheel (a.k.a. a ferris wheel), which gave a good view of the park and the lake. I am also into spinning rides and went on a few of those that were not totally wild. The two I went on were the Calypso, which is kind of a tilted flat plane Scrambler, and the Hurricane, which goes in a single large circle on a little wavy plane kind of fast.

The food at the park is not anything special really down to the expected high amusement park prices. The options are pretty limited if you are a vegetarian like me. I had a cheese pizza at a place near the Mine Ride. It was not that great and in fact I am pretty sure is was a microwaved frozen pizza. We had dinner at the Midway Market, which is an all-you-can-eat buffet for around $17 for an adult. It is a pretty good deal, but their are selections stiill are not that great for vegetarians. The salad section is really pretty limited with only like cucumbers and cheese to add to the lettuce. They did not even at least have croutons or mushrooms, although the Italian dressing was pretty good. They also had some pastas, but only the mac and cheese was okay.

The last thing we did at the park was see the Hot Summer Lights Fire Up the Night show. The show's description makes it sound exciting, but it really is not all that worth sticking around for. It is basically a fancy music mix of songs with a few fireworks, lights, and "firewater" comng out around the screen to go with the music. The songs are pretty mixed in style from "Cleveland Rocks" to "Life is a Highway" to songs from High School Musical to the very out of place seeming football fight songs. Basically it is just a basly mashed together music mix in a want to be cool fire show that just is not much of anything special and just leaves you confused.

I'vve traveled all over looking for the biggest and fastest thrill rides and the best parks in the country, and Cedar Point wins by a landslide. Home to the top thrill dragster and their newest addition the maverick, it's thrill seekers heaven! it's a must go for any adrenaline junky.

Cedar Point Amusement Park

Alright, I know this isn't located in Cleveland, but c'mon! Cedar Point is located in Sandusky, Ohio. There are over 60 rides in this amusement park, and over a dozen of them are roller coasters. This park has been justifiably called the best roller coaster park in the world. The top ride right now is the Top Thrills Dragster, but my personal favorite is the Millennium Force. It’s just a longer, more balanced ride, not a big whoosh that’s over in 7 seconds. My sister and I waited in an extra line to sit in the front car, and boy was it worth it. When we got off our hair was all messed up and we realized we had been holding our breath for most of the ride. My kids love Cedar Point, too, although it’s kind of expensive to pay your way in just to watch them have fun. There are a lot of rides for the kids, but the best in my opinion (actually make that my kid’s opinions) are the giant carousel and the cars that go on a track that you pretend to drive.
