In this area the Paul Bunyan Trail is flat and not especially scenic. It passes through forested areas and along small rural highways, and briefly skirts the shores of two or three lakes, but doesn't give you anything special to look at. The bugs can be a problem, too, so slather on the Deep Woods OFF!
The trail is flat and in great condition, so the ride was easy for our kids, including our five-year-old son who just learned to ride. The path is ideal for the biker looking for a good place to really work the pedals, but the casual rider may find the stretch between villages a bit boring in terms of scenery.
