Whale watching

Whale petting is one of the major atractions here, the Baja side has several protected lagoons where whalers once killed whales by the thousands. Now you can hire a boat to go pet the giants, or watch them crash out of the water up close and I mean close.
In some places, the whales seem pretty friendly and their curious babies allow you to pet them from the fishing docks. I guess they come here in the winter to breed in the lagoons and hang out.
They said that there are gray whales and other species of whales here that stay in Alaska in the summer.
