Bolberry down is a clifftop area, reached by heading to Marlborough and turning off down a side road to Hope Cove, and turning off again until you run out of road!! (Better get a map, although if you're exploring the South Hams, you should have one anyway unless you enjoy spending hours in green lanes and never seeing anyone or getting anywhere productive...hmm, actually sounds kinda tempting, doesn't it!) It's owned by the National Trust and is a good way of joining the South West Coast Path for a walk along the cliffs. The Port Light is a popular pub for its location, and the open grassland and regular wind is good for flying kites...though be warned, it gets very windy in bad weather, so stay away from the edge! Views are stunning - perched on the clifftop rocks, you can see for miles along the cliffs and out to sea. Also, if you follow the path around to the west (right as you enter the car park!), you can sit and look over Bantham Beach and Burgh Island. Visit Bolberry when me and the guys are back from university over Easter or summer and you'll probably see us being dragged behind large kites on mountain boards, as apart from Bantham Beach at low tide, it's the best spot around for kiting. Definitely worth checking out!
