This One Is the Best

We have taken this tour 23 times and I can't wait to do it again. Captain Lani appears to be grumpy when you first get on the boat, but there is no better captain sailing the Na Pali coast. He was raised here and knows it better than anyone and is passionate about his passenger's safety and sincerely wants you to enjoy the time you spend with him. He built the boat he sails and there are personal touches throughout your 5 hour excursion. The Na Pali is breathtaking. If you don't do anything else, you must see it and the best way is on Catamaran Kahanu.

Are you looking for a fun way to experience Kaua'i? I strongly suggest Catamaran Kahanu. The company is owned by a native family and is operated by father and son. This company only takes 18 passengers at the most, whereas the other companies take up to 40. The father and son shared their knowledge of Kaua’i, including where their ancestors lived and how they lived, and native basket weaving techniques using coconut fronds. They took us to the Na Pali coast to snorkel and, on the way there, we saw three sea turtles, three bottle-nosed dolphins (very playful), and several Hawaiian spinning porpoises, which were also playful. The dolphins and porpoises came right up to the boat. Once you reach the Na Pali coast, you have a half hour to snorkel (I wish it was longer) and then you are served lunch. I would suggest taking Dramamine if you are inclined to sea-sickness. The trip home was very bumpy, but a BLAST. More pictures to come soon. We took a Catamaran along the most beautiful shoreline in Hawaii, Na Pali Coast, where we had dinner and saw a spectacular sunset on the way home. The ocean was splashing in our face and the wind was blowing in our hair and all the while we looked out over the bluest ocean.
