Crowds of people. Swarming masses. Pig's head? Not usually what you associate with beauty and culture...But this is a major exception. How can you not become part of the swarms of people trying to buy food at the market? How can you not laugh at the smiling pig's faces in the delis? El Centro has much to do, including a visit to the local Catholic Cathedral and the park. You never know where you are going to go or what you are going to do, but if it becomes to overwhelming, take a stroll to the beach...It's only half a mile away!

Don't send the USDA here. There wouldn't be enough drugs in Mexico to get their hearts started again. Other merchandise is available with the food items. Don't go on cruise ship day, prices are up 20%.

This is where the locals shop. The market is inside a large building near the cathedral (check out the cathredral--it's beautifully renovated). Buy produce here. I would not recommend buying meat here (you'll see why!). This is a very interesting place to spend some time.
