This was the highlight of our trip and we went everywhere, including the British Museum. About 2-3 miles from the museum is the British Library. In the historical archive you will see such things as Shakespeare's original works, the original works of Darwin and drawings by Leonardo DaVinci. Not copies - the real thing. Read the last letter that Sir Thomas More wrote to Henry VIII before the axe. See original parts of the Dead Sea Scrolls and maps from the 1400s. See the original Magna Carta. It is absolutely awe-inspiring.
