We called the night before for reservations. They sent a shuttle for us, which was included in the price. It was about a 45-minute ride to the place. We went in January, so the water was a bit cool. I wore a wet suit, which I rented for $10. You can buy fish food for $4, but I wouldn't buy it.

We rode on a nice-sized, two-level boat, with five assistants on board. We made three stops. The first one was the longest (40 minutes) and we saw the most fish there -- literally thousands! My husband dove in and was quite taken back because they were everywhere!! He quickly motioned for me to get in. They were not afraid of us and stayed quite close. I snapped my fingers underwater like I was going to feed them and they came within an inch of me. They were very colorful and there were many species. We had a large area to check things out and saw fish I never even knew existed.

At the second stop (20-25 minutes), we checked out an old ship they sank about four years ago. There were not as many fish, but it was still interesting.

The last stop (20 minutes) was where we snorkeled with the sharks. We saw between 30 and 40, I would say. Even though it was a little nerve-wracking, the crew was very assuring it was safe and I am so glad I can say I did it. They came within about four feet of us, but never acted as if we were shark bait.

After we all got out, the crew then fed the sharks off of a spear, so the sharks came up out of the water inches from us! It was SO cool! The crew was very informative and professional. They run an excellent tour! I am so glad we went. It was a great way to end the day.

I am one who abhors waves and deep water, but I'd snorkel at Stuart's Cove in a heartbeat. The Stuart's Cove people take snorkeling and diving seriously. No booze-cruises or organized "fun" here. Just serious snorkeling.

The ride from Paradise Island took about an hour, but once there we immediately noticed that the very good quality of the boat and the facilites. The snorkeling equipment was included in the $40.00, and was also of good quality. Fins fit great and the mask didn't leak -- wonderful. For chickens like me, they also supplied floatation devices.

And... we got in enough snorkeling to last me for a couple of weeks. We made 3 major stops, 2 for snorkeling and 1 to swim with the reef sharks. The first two stops were lengthy, probably about 40 minutes each. In February, you really do not want to stay in the ocean for much longer without a wet suit, so the 40 minutes was perfect.

The shark snorkeling was shorter, only about 10-15 minutes. I've now seen enough shark teeth to last me a lifetime, but it was great! There's no experience quite like that of a 7-foot shark deciding he'd like to check you out.
