Description: Gulf World seems high priced at first, but in reality, you get your money's worth. We had a coupon for $2 off a child's admission. With our paid admission, we received free tickets with no expiration for the evening laser show. We went on a very rainy day. While the weather could have been better to enjoy the exhibits, everything was under roofs and overhangs so that we didn't miss a thing. Not being able to enjoy the beach, this was a great alternative.
At the entrance, they give you the schedule of shows. Each follows the previous so that within three hours, you can see all of them. They offer a dolphin show, a sea lion show, an underwater show, a parrot show and shark and stingray feedings. The least exciting were the shark feedings and underwater show. Feeding the stingrays is interactive, so that was fun for the whole family. The sea lion and dolphin shows were wonderful. You get very close to these amazing animals. If you desire, you can get your photo taken with them after the show. It is worth the $10.
The parrots are in an enclosed aviary but not in cages. The staff often reminds children that they bite. I was amazed that there are so many of them. The show was very cute.
I highly recommend Gulf World for children as well as adults. It is a small marine park, but they capitalize on their size and allow you to feel very close to the sea life.
