Wow! It's a little chilly, but bundled up inside a wicker crate, being hauled by a team of 6 to 10 huskies, is a wonderful way to spend the morning. If you are brave, you can try mushing the team yourself, or you can sit back, relax, and soak up the views, maybe catching a glimpse of a coyote, wolf, or moose.

Dog Sledding

If you have ever watched anything about the Iditarod you undoubtedly know how exciting it can be to fly over the snow in a sled pulled by running dogs! Jackson Hole is a great place to give this a try...there are several options, but my favorite is Washakie Outfitters from Dubois. They have two locations where it is possible to go out for a day, either at Teton Village or on Togwotee Pass. I suggest a half or full day tour on Togwotee.

Allow about 1 hour to get from Jackson to Togwotee. You will drive past the Tetons and through some of the country's most gorgeous scenery.

Don't forget to tip your guide if you enjoyed your tour ($10-$20)...these guys basically survive on gratuities.
