I especially enjoyed the Live Steam Exhibit. You could smell the moist steamy air as nine old-time steam engines operated under a large shed between Cracker Village and the main exhibit halls. Tracey Hobson and his crew have done a wonderful job restoring and operating these machines.
You can really learn about Florida history at Cracker Village. The blacksmith is pounding away on small wrought iron items you can buy. The old hit and miss engine is busy grinding cornmeal and grits that are available for purchase. The old houses, stores and railroad station really portray a Florida from the past.
There are plenty of rides for the kids and the young at heart.
