Kids Will Love Dinosaur World

You can't miss the big orange t-rex on the side of I-4 near Plant City. If you have kids ages 3-12, you must stop. There are over 150 life size dinosaurs and exhibits like a fossil dig where you sift thru sand in search of fossils to take home, a bonyard where you can uncover a life size dinosaur skeleton and more. I promise it is worth the time. No rides, just good old fashioned fun

This is a little walk through park with hundreds of dinosaur statues. The entire park is shaded. There is a lot of information and also a fossil dig, playground, and picnic area. There is no food in the park, but we brought a nice picnic. The kids really enjoyed the fossil dig and taking lots of pictures. The price is kind of high, but there are coupons in some rest areas. The gift shop is a good one, with many reasonable options for souvenirs.

My boys are 7 and 11, and they really liked it, but they are really into dinosaurs. The younger one liked looking and playing, and the other liked reading the information. I was glad to have left our teenage daughter at her cousins, because she probably would have gotten bored quickly and rushed the boys who wanted to see everything!

Okay, this park may seem a bit hokey at first glance, but if your kids are intrigued with dinosaurs, then take the time to go. It's a beautiful park to walk through, and you will encounter many dinosaurs you have never seen or heard of. Additionally, the park sets out to be factually accurate in presenting life-size dinosaurs with a great deal of information about each display. The park is very well maintained, and probably the best playground we've ever encountered awaits you at the end of the park. The park is about 1/2 hour outside Tampa, so it's a pretty easy trek. Check it out at www.dinoworld.net. (Plus, you can get a coupon there!)
