Shawnee River Adventures

The Delaware River is different each time we have rafted it. It is an easy course for beginners and a good test of family teamwork! Kids and adults can jump into the water to cool off and swim a bit of the way with life jackets on! Water varies from 3-20 feet deep. This year, the water was crystal clear and the current was moderate. We did a 3-mile trip and will definitely go back for the 6-mile trip next year. Three miles can be done easily in less than 3 hours.

The river is very calm and perfect for beginners. The scenery is spectacular. The water is crystal-clear in this area, and the fishing is excellent.

Shawnee River Adventures

Shawnee is a wonderful spot to experience the natural beauty of the Delaware River. Shawnee River Adventures is located along the river behind the Shawnee Inn. Rafting, canoe rentals, and tubing were within walking distance of our Shawnee Village timeshare. The resort is surrounded on three sides by the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. My husband and teenagers took a day trip floating down the river in inner tubes. The gentle summer flow of the Delaware River allowed them to take in the beauty of the area that is natural and untouched on both sides. They saw a blue heron, an eagle, and some loons. For more adventuresome types, Shawnee River Adventures offers overnight trips by canoe. The river season runs from Memorial Day to about October 15.
