My guide dropped us into a tributary of the Snake River between Jackson Lake and Jackson Hole. He provided an aluminum drift boat and a lot of local knowledge about the river and flies. While I caught 6 large Cutthroat Trout (so named because they have 5 or 6 red/orange spots on their chins which look like shaving cuts), the best fisherman on the river was a large osprey who would swoop down and pull fish out of the water right near us. It felt like I was trapped inside the Discovery Channel or an ESPN fishing program.
