When you walk into the zoo, there are a handful of cages with large animals (mountain lions, white tigers, bears). We were surprised to see rabbits hopping around. Then a pig walked by us.
On one side is a small farm with goats, cows, and sheep. There were a bunch of baby goats, so my daughter was in heaven seeing the itty-bitty babies.
There were other areas with birds, monkeys, and other animals. We quickly figured out that the ones in two cages were not animals we should try to feed.
Another highlight was a fenced-in area. It has donkeys and their babies, camels, elephants, zebras (watch out! they bite!), giraffes. They have elephant rides, but I think it's just on the weekend. Llamas roam free in this area. Once they figure out you have food, it's like having the kids figure out you've got a bag of M&M's. You're not getting rid of them. It was kind of scary for my smaller kids, because the llamas don't say 'Please'. But we got a laugh out of one of them eating straight from the bag then chewing on the bag.
We had a fantastic time in Natural Bridge... between the Zoo and the Natural Bridge, it was our best day. Close
