Description: Boasting the title of the oldest art museum in the south, the Telfair Museums contain many different art pieces from a collection of eras. Housed in three separate buildings, the collection was established by Mary Telfair in 1886. The museum also includes period-style rooms in the old Telfair mansion, as well as decorative arts in the
Owens-Thomas home and a large all-encompassing gallery in the
Jepson Center for the Arts. The museum also houses rotating exhibits in addition to their permanent collection.
