Some of the more adventurous may want to go on a hot-air balloon ride; we decided that the kids weren’t going to let that happen, so instead, we did a horseback ride and the night Hummer tour through the Tonto National Forest. Both were truly spectacular. We saw everything from chuckwallas to javelina, from jack rabbits to coyotes. The actual horseback ride was about 5 hours for semi-experienced to experienced riders. We brought a lunch and enjoyed an afternoon picnic at a spring deep in the heart of the park.
The Hummer Tour was equal to ride, but from a night perspective. And since we weren’t driving, a bottle of wine made the evening perfect.
