Old Town Scottsdale

My husband and I visited Old Town Scottsdale twice. I had read some place that the shopping here was expensive, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a good mixture of shopping to be had here. There was, of course the very expensive, but there were also some very reasonable shops. There was one shop that was selling very nice quality t-shirts starting at $3.99. We bought 5 T-shirts for myself and presents. They also had some other nice souvenirs at very reasonable prices. I can't remember the name of the place, but it was on E 1st Ave (south side) between Scottsdale Road and Brown. There was also quite a few other shops that had decent price ranges for the average person.

Of course there were other shops that were quite expensive. Some of these shops had some beautiful and unique jewelry, artwork, western-wear, Mexican and Indian works, etc. It was wonderful just window shopping in these stores and seeing these exquisite works of art.

The architecture of Old Town Scottsdale is unique and gives one a good taste of Scottsdale's pioneer past of around the late 1800's.

The area is not too large so it is an easy stroll for all ages. There are also some very pretty park areas to sit and relax in and just enjoy the beauty of the day and area.

This place is a definite must-see for anyone that visits the Phoenix area.

Old Town is nice. There is public parking there, too, so don't worry about parking on the street. There are many restaurants and bars here. There are Native American stores, art galleries, jewelry stores, and a park. Sometimes there is entertainment in the park. There is a theater that has live performances, too. I enjoyed walking around here, but I was so surprised that the shops close at 6pm, even on a Saturday night. I'm from NYC, and our stores hardly ever close at all. Old Town Scottsdale is very similar to the old town in Albuquerque.
