More important than the scenery, the golf experience is excellent. There are many challenging holes with well placed hazards and well manicured greens on every hole. I thought the course was fair although you do get punished for errant tee shots. There are a few very long par fours and I couldn't reach the par fives in two shots (and I normally can), but I wouldn't call it a particularly long course. We played from the back tees (not the championship tees) and I never had to hit more than a mid iron into the green (except for about three holes). The par threes were also mid iron distance.
On the day we played, we followed a college tournament so the pin placements were pretty tough. But the greens weren't ridiculous. They were quick but not scary. There were some undulations and you could end up with some long putts, but overall the greens were fair.
All said, this was a very enjoyable golf experience. It was a very pretty course with lots of interesting golf shots. One bonus, it is easy to get to from the airport if you are arriving for a golf road trip with buddies.

Like many courses these days, resort housing meanders throughout, but I rarely found the houses too close for comfort.
The course is laid out in a links style with plenty of bunkers. As a longer hitter, there were several times I chose to play "smart" rather than try my luck with the driver on some of the tighter holes.
The most memorable holes come at the end of the round. Be ready for the par 3 on the 17th hole. I found myself in the HUGE left bunker twice, and I counted myself very lucky to scrape out a par one of those two times.
Even though my wife and I fell behind the group ahead of us, I didn't feel rushed by the course marshals to speed up play. They knew that there weren't many golfers on the course and were content to let us play at our own pace.
All in all, my experience on this course was very good, especially considering the price. I've recommended it to several of my golfing friends and will definitely go back the next time I'm in the area.

The course was well-manicured, with lush fairways and fast multi levelled greens. The course was well-bunkered. Some greenside bunkers were so deep that you couldn't see the green when you were shooting from them! The fairways were generous, but if you missed the fairways, the desert was punishing. The course was very scenic with interesting desert plants.
We loved the course so much that we played it twice. I would suggest leaving your cell phone in your suite. It went off on the third hole and I was on it for two holes. I ended up picking up my ball and passing until the phone call was done.
