Upon further enquiry, I discovered that they actually were running a tourist activity where you could likewise be dangled by a tether 1063m above sea-level!
Now I'm not normally prone to acrophobia (I've done three skydives), but when I went over to take some pictures, I had to get into a harness too and lean out over the precipice to photograph these loonies. Looking straight down over 1km is enough to make my head spin, thank you!
Some casual tourists were getting quite a thrill from the experience and, although I did not have a go myself, I could see the attraction for people who like to have crap scared out of them.
Have a look at the pics and decide whether you'd like to have a go. You can book in advance or just turn up. Cost is about R350.
