I have stayed at Rusty's quite a few times and consider the location the best on the AuSable system.
Rusty is a great person and a true friend to my group of trout bums.
Our group has grown so large that we know rent a lodge to accomidate us all. We however are at Rusty's every day of our week there, either at the fly shop or eating our meals in their wonderful facility.
I have been meaning to write this for a long time and I am glad that I finally have. Rusty is the best!

Located right on the AuSable river in beautiful Grayling, Gates AuSable Lodge is owned by Rusty Gates, and is a perfect little getaway for those of you who love to go wading into the water and enjoying a day or two (or even three) of flyfishing. Also at the lodge is a pro shop, where you can purchase anything you may need to complete your flyfishing gear. A small restaurant is also on site, offering GREAT breakfasts, TASTY lunches, and FILLING dinners. Out behind the rooms, there is a fire pit with benches and the like so you can get together with other visitors and share stories, make s'mores, or just unwind for the night. Located in the back areas of Grayling, it is also a nice location for a romantic getaway.
