The museum has a large rotating collection of art that spans from the very beginning of known art all the way into the present, hitting every period in between. I took an art history class a few years ago, so here are some major and somewhat famous things that I recall at CAM:
-Ancient Egypt: mummy, hieroglyphics in stone, wall reliefs, and statues
-Art of Africa
-Asian Art: pottery and jade sculptures
-Giant wall tapestries
-Pop and modern art
-Multimedia installation art
-Traditional European oil paintings
-Large Christian triptec
-Cincinnati art: paintings, furniture, and sculptures
-An awesome medieval collection with intricate armor and swords that have not been on display in 3 years
-Famous artists: Kandinsky, Picasso, Andy Warhol, El Greco, Monet, Manet, Mary Cassatt, van Gogh, Rubens, van Dyck, and others I can't remember now

CAM holds many events, lectures and programs for all ages. Also, there is a large library which can be browsed through (only members have borrowing privileges).
