Knott Scary At All Farm

We had a terrible experience here and I don't recommend it for any adults looking for a good time. The tickets are WAY too expensive for what you're getting and our group felt incredibly ripped off.
It took so long to park and the traffic directors led us OUT of the park where there were no signs for direction. We just assumed where we were supposed to go and thankfully got lucky. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I find it irritating to sit in traffic for 2 hours 'assuming' we're in the right place.
When we finally got in there, we went on a ride called the Boomerang where we waiting in line for ANOTHER 2 hours and a group of drunk teenagers were behind us. There was even a fight!!! Thankfully we were a good distance away, but we could see it. There was no organization to cue people into seating and make sure no one was cutting the line or jumping the fence to sneak onto the ride - in fact, there WERE people cutting the line and open seats that could have been filled!! Even young and short children were allowed on the roller coasters!! That's so dangerous as they could slip and fall out of the seating or disobey safety precautions.
As far as the Halloween event goes, we weren't scared at all. The only haunted house we had time for was the 'corn maze' were their actors were incredibly tired and lazy....there was absolutely no effort put into it and everything just felt depressing.
And on a final note, the whole place smelled like marijuana. Don't waste your money here.

Knotts So Nice, Berry Farms

My 12 year old daughter just got back from Knotts yesterday where she attended a birthday party for one of her class mates. The only thing she could talk about were all the strange people that she saw there and how they scarred her.. She said the place was full of "goth" people and kids with excessive amounts of piercings and tattoos, and it made her feel uncomfortable. She was particularly scared of one goth kid who had white contacts in his eyes ...... She also said that the staff wasn't very friendly... She made the comment "It's no Disneyland".
As a parent, I don't want my kids put into an environment that makes them feel uncomfortable or presents a bad influence on them. I'm sure we'll never go to Knotts again and I'll recommend to the school districts that they continue to go the Disney for their school outtings....... As it appears that Knotts is looking at Magic Mountain as a business model instead of raising it's standards to that of Disney..

On Rainy Day, Get Refund Fast!

We were misled on a recent visit on a rainy day. The parking attendant told us he had no word on whether rides would be operating even though the park had just opened. The ticket counter claimed two rides were not operating that day. But after paying for parking and tickets we found that no roller coasters were running. Staff told us to wait until an hour after opening for coasters to start running. Later we were told no roller coasters run on rainy days. When we decided to ask for a refund it was 40 minutes past park opening. They asked for our tickets (to check the time of purchase) and made an "exception." This is why visitors were told to wait until an hour after opening for coasters to run. Refunds, presumably, are not allowed once park has been open an hour. We said it's false adversing to sell tickets when no coasters are operating. Their resonse: "tickets are for park entrance and not for rides!!!!!" We later had to fight for our parking fee refund (even though the park and parking lot are owned by same co.). We showed our ticket refund receipt to get our parking fee refunded. We saw some teens asking for refunds but only got a pass for future use. Another man in the parking lot was also unsuccessful in getting refund.

The Boardwalk-themed area at Knott's

The Boardwalk-themed area at Knott's

Knotts Berry Farm is a great day trip for the whole family. My favorite is the bumper cars, but my granddaughter loved the semi truck cars in snoopyland. They have wild west shows and lots of old west themed areas like a saloon and panning for gold. The haunted shack is interesting too. Mrs Knotts chicken dinner restaurant is the best but it has one drawback... It is not stroller friendly! Don't forget to take home some Jelly!

Camp Snoopy, part 2

Camp Snoopy, part 2

The Camp Snoopy-themed area for children is rather large, so your kids will find lots to enjoy there. Another ride is the Flying Ace Balloon Race, a colorful ride using "helium balloons" for the ride cars. These lift up into the air as they circle a central hub. A favorite attraction of my grandson's is Snoopy's Bounce House. A GIANT inflated Snoopy adorns the top of this soft structure.

You'll begin in the waiting area, where the kids must take off their shoes to enter. Once the kids are all ready, an attendent lets them into the Bounce House one by one, and the playing begins. They get to bounce around for about 5 minutes, and you can watch through the clear, soft-but-thick plastic windows. When it's over, you'll help your children replace their shoes, and you're on your way. Parents can't go into the Bounce House, but at the Rocky Road Truckin' Company, the parents get chauffeured! The kids sit in the truck's cab and "drive," while the parents sit outside the cab and just enjoy the view. (How's THAT for a foreshadowing of "things to come!") Remember the Peanuts character, Woodstock? He's a little yellow bird who's Snoopy's friend. Well, he has his own ride at Camp Snoopy, too--called "Woodstock's Airmail." On this ride, the kids are lifted straight into the air, then dropped down suddenly, and then they get in a few smaller bounces before the ride is over. It's a miniature version of the adult ride "Supreme Scream" found in the Boardwalk section of the park.

So far, I've mentioned plenty of rides, but there are still more! There's the Charlie Brown Speedway, which offers tiny cars for your kids to drive along a tiny roadway. Then there's the Log Peeler, which is a mini-scrambler. The Huff and Puff is a good ride for active youngsters--they "kid-power" their own little mining cars by pushing and pumping a handle to make themselves go around on the track. There's the High Sierra Ferris Wheel, which--like many of Camp Snoopy's rides--is fun for the whole family, and not just the children. Plus, there's the walk-through play house, which features Peanuts-themed gadgets for the kids to explore within it. Live shows are performed several times a day at the Camp Snoopy Theater, featuring the Peanuts charactures, naturally.
