All along the coastline of the Door County peninsula there are pull-offs and beach areas, many of which have hiking trails. It's a great area to explore and discover the unique geology of the area. There is abundant wildlife and panoramic views of either Green Bay or Lake Michigan, depending on which side of the peninsula you're on. When I was there, it was still chilly on the windward side, but the lee side was balmy and fresh. The shoreline is wooded with hardwoods and cedars. The cedars give the area an aroma which takes you back to the days of the pioneers. Take the time to relax and get into the rhythm of nature. After a good dose of the "back to earth" feel of the area, you will find yourself energized and refreshed.
