This is the most unique set of courts you will ever play on. It was built in 1931 as a WPA project on the site of a former canyon quarry - 100 foot canyon walls are on all sides. All you can hear are the echoes of tennis players and the occasional bird cry. It also has a beautiful clubhouse to relax in while you wait or after playing. In 1981 it won an award from the USTA.
How to get here? From the east end of Lake Merritt, take Lakeshore Ave east to Park Ln. Turn left, go two blocks to Oak Rd. Turn right and pull into the lot.
