Biltmore Fashion Park

The Biltmore Fashion Park is a great place to wander in and out of some unique (Haus, modern home accessories) and well-known (Pottery Barn, Saks, Apple) retailers. This place is already beautiful, with plenty of outdoor seating, gardens, and fountains, but parent company Westcor is beginning a major renovation, I think this year. Also check out the restaurants—WiFi at Coffee Plantation, wonderful Asian fusion food at the Bamboo Club, French traditional at Fermier's, and others.

Among the gardens and fountains at this beautiful outdoor mall you will find exclusive stores such as Sak's Fifth Avenue, Gucci, Cartier and Ralph Lauren interspersed with moderate retailers like Victoria's Secret, Williams-Sonoma, The Discovery Store, Barnes and Noble and Macy's. Restaurant choices include The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen and Steamers.

Although this is undoubtedly where the area's wealthy residents do most of their shopping (count the number of chauffers leaning up against Bentleys and Rolls Royce Coupes in the parking area), the average shopper will not feel out of place.

If you happen to be in town on a Friday between October and May, check out the open market set up in the courtyard area of Biltmore Fashion Park.
