Skiing at Badger Pass was a really great experience. It's not a shi-shi uber expensive resort type experience. The ski lodge is just your basics - lockers, inexpensive foodstuffs, lots of people tottering about in ski boots and hats - that sort of thing.
The lift tickets were reasonably priced and renting equipment was a relatively fast and easy procedure. With lift tickets, it's around $55 for a half day (12-4pm) and $75 for the full day.
I thought that it would be really crowded since it was still around the Holidays but actually, the crowds were quite mild. We didn't have to wait any longer than 5 or 10 minutes to get on any of the lifts.
There aren't too many choices of runs but the ones they do have are beautiful. There are lots of trees powdered with sparkly white snow. The air is clean.
When you're tired and want to eat and rest, the meals there are also quite decent. They have pizza, burgers, chicken sandwhiches and the like in the lodge for around $10 per person.
All in all, I would say that skiing Badger Pass is a very good experience.

Not many people know that a ski resort exists in Yosemite - it happens to be one of the oldest ski resorts in California! The cross-country skiing has no trail fee and offers the most spectacular views possible. Downhill skiing is decent, with 10 trails and a 700 ft vertical drop - a great place to bring kids! The lodge/rental building is quaint, with lots of history.
As an added bonus, it's on the way to beautiful Glacier Point.
Equipment rental is $13-$18 for skis, $30 for snowboarding.
It is open from Nov-March, depending on conditions - call ahead at (209)372-1000 or (209) 372-8430
