The Beach

The Beach

The beach was unbearable, between the locals asking if we want horse/jet ski/boating, etc., and the lack of room to relax. By 9am there were NO available chairs. If you like sitting in the nasty sand, this is your place.

Watch what you pay. You can pay anywhere from 860 pesos to 1,300 pesos. We made a deal with the manager and paid 930 pesos for three days. The course had a very nice layout and excellent shape, but some of the greens were not in shape. This didn't affect our game, though. I have pic if you want to see them. Click on the link here or email me and I will send you them. See http://photos.yahoo.com/aucshnr.

Pottery Painting

Here even those who color outside the lines can create personal, one of a kind momentos of their vacations. There are two to three tables set up throughout the resort where you can paint your own piece of pottery. The ladies have drawn lines on the plates, vases, et al, and have an assortment of paint colors to choose from. They take your masterpiece home with them, re-paint the black lines, fire and glaze it and in la manyana, you have a very cool treasure. It is very cheap ($2.50 to $15.00) and a great way to un-wind while expressing your artistic flair. This was great fun for the kiddos and adults as well!

Mexican Fiesta

Mexican Fiesta

The Fiesta is an all-you-can-eat buffet with open bar and entertainment. It seated 300 people and was easily filled. Guests were solicited from other resorts and hotels to join the fiesta. We met a couple from a hotel downtown. Everyone was given a ceramic cup to have shots of tequila and a bandana. The tables seated 10 people. The buffet was huge and there were two separate ones to accommodate all the people. Our waiter was wonderful. We ordered two drinks at a time, knowing the very slow relaxed pace of the staff. There was a photographer coming around with two heavy sombreros and taking your picture. We never saw ours until the next day. It came out blurry, so we now know why they didn't try to sell it to us.

The food was real Mexican and quite good. The entertainment consisted of different Mexican styles of dance. It was a good time.

Awesome!!! Went to the Fiesta and waited in a long line. No problem -- we met several people from the US and talked so much the time flew by. We were greeted with red bandanas and a ceramic shot glass, which we hung from our neck. We were asked to do a shot of tequila and then given a spiked fruit drink or a beer. We sat at a huge round table with 8 other people and we all hit it off and had a ball. The food was LAID OUT. That was what it was all about. DO NOT MISS THE FIESTA. Even a separate room for desserts alone as well as an after dinner "shot". Mmm. The entertainment was wonderful with singing and dancing and audience participation. The hospitality and service was tremendous. I sure hated it to end, but when it did, we went to the lounge area and participated in a game of "Name That Tune". Lots of good clean fun!!!
