Archibald Sisters
An Olympia institution, Archibald Sisters is a modern-day apothecary, chock full of every funky gift item you can imagine. Even if you don't have time to go in, the window displays are always amazingly creative & worth a look. I always stop in here to stock up on cards, good smelling lotions or bubble bath, jewelry, cheap sunglasses, strange magnets...you get the picture. There's a whole section for kids too (including the grown-up kind). There really is something for everyone here.
At the back of the store they will custom mix you perfumes, lotions, or other bath products. It's an inexpensive way to try on a new scent too, as they have (I'd guess a hundred or so) different perfumes and oils available. They also put together a good gift basket if you're at a loss for what to give someone.
Overall the prices are reasonable, pretty much something whatever your price range. If you find something you really like but can't make it back to the store, they do a mail-order service through the website. For a map & directions click here.
