Daily lift tickets at $72 are not cheap, but you can reduce the daily price by buying multi-day tickets. As there are over 150 trails and 27 lifts, you could easily ski a new run each time you came down one of the 6 mountain peaks. Your lift ticket is colour coded to your parking area and signs on the hills ensure you do not get lost, end up on a trail outside your level of comfort or ski the last run to a parking lot where your car is not. Several gondolas make the trip to the top a bit more comfortable in inclement weather and there are enough lifts in total so you are not spending more time waiting to go up than skiing down.

There is a ski school and child care, slow zones, family friendly areas, an area for freestyle terrain and a snowboard park. You can rent or buy or purchase those items you forgot to pack. Guided mountain tours are offered on the hour at the Snowshed and mountain orientation is given at the K-1 station.

Each base station has at least one place to eat-the trail map will have a succinct description of gastronomic offerings. It is not always open, but the restaurant at the top of Killington Mountain has the best views and serves up decent lunch food.

It's huge! There is something for everybody. But whatever you do, don't take the Juggernaut on regular skis. What a mistake that was! It's totally, totally flat. It took like 4 hours to push myself along it. It was agony! The Great Eastern is the best way down, and a very nice long run. It's easy without being boring. You have to go for more than one day.

There is really something for every level on this mountain, from most challenging to very easy. What sets this resort apart is the great terrain, vertical drop, and the GONDOLAS! It is sooo much better to ride to the top in a nice cozy gondala then freezing your butt off out in the elements on a chair lift. You can gondola all the way to the top! I recommend starting at the Sky Peake gondola as it is close to the highway (so easy in and easy out).

This place was fantastic, by far the most diverse mountain on the East Coast. I ski Killington every year and have yet to be disappointed. I have never waited in a lift line for more than 5 minutes. There are gondolas as well as chair lifts. Whatever your skiing ability, there is terrain for your level at Killington. There are several bases and lodges with parking.

TIPS for Killington:

If you like bumps and steeps, ski Bear Mountain in the morning. Next ski Skye peak because there are some nice blue cruising trails there. Love steeps? Move to the Canyon. Got young kids? Try Ram's Head for open greens and blues. Snack time? You must try the Waffle Haus!
