Outside Hilton Head

This was a two-hour guided nature tour of the marsh in Shelter Cove. Jess was our guide and was knowledgeable about the history, plants, and animals in the area. We were with a very large group (10 people, nine kayaks), so it was difficult to stay close enough to hear everything. This was my first time kayaking so the instructions before the trip were well received. The kayaks were very stable and maneuverable once you got the hang of it.

The day we went it was overcast and right around 80 degrees. If the sun is out, it will get very hot in the marsh. Bring water no matter what.

Shannon Tanner is an excellent entertainer mostly for kids, but as an adult, I loved his show too. He is an excellent singer and is excellent with kids. I also highly recommend the dolphin tour. It was well worth the trip.

Great place to spend an afternoon and evening. Combine a stroll through the marina area and shops with fine or casual dining. Here you can also sign on to a fishing expedition, kayak tour, or dolphin watch. You can dine indoors or out. Benches are available for relaxing or people watching. A short walk will take you to a larger mall and shopping area. During the summer season be sure to visit on a Tuesday evening for the festivities and fireworks

There is a little something for everyone at the Shelter Cove Harbour shops. At Camp Hilton Head, there is all the touristy stuff you will need! We are talking golf shirts, hats, necklaces, souvenirs, all with HILTON HEAD on it. There is an art gallery but the name escapes me, but it has great paintings of Hilton Head and the scenery and hotels. I have one of their paintings in my home. There is more homey stuff in Bay Berry's, and more touristy stuff in the stationary store and in the shop next to it, there is some great shell wreaths, crafts, lamps, tourist stuff, jewelry, nautical stuff too. There is just a lot to look at!
