All the courses on Hilton Head are great! Even the less expensive courses are quite fine. Some discount coupons are available in the travel magazines.

Golf at Shipyard

This was the first course we played and, for the entire golf party, the most enjoyable. The course was in great shape with quick greens. An amazing amount of wildlife populated the fairways, including gators, fowl, and other small creatures. I also played this course twice last year.

Golf courses on the island

There are 22 golf courses and some of the best of them are open to the public. All of them are excellent, but can be pricey. You can find some tourist discount books that have golf discounts (and other discounts) in many of the convenience stores and at your resort / hotel.
