Skiing in Flagstaff - Snowbowl

We arrived quite late, but we could still enjoy the snow and the after-skiing "party."

Although it was almost at the end of the season, the tracks were perfect, neat, and clean and the snow was white. There are several tracks with different difficulty grades to choose from according to your expertise level.

When the tracks close, people hang out at the bar on the deck and listen to music, dance, and drink. It was a great time!

Where else can you be in 70°F weather at one point, drive 2 and half hours north, and be in knee-deep snow? ARIZONA, of course! Snowbowl is the main ski resort that's easily accessible to Arizona residents.

Located just 7 miles outside Flagstaff, Snowbowl is open year-round to visit. Ride the ski lift and have a burger or a cup of hot chocolate. The longest ski run is 2 miles to the bottom. Skiing and snowboarding are both welcome.

During the non-ski season, there is some great hiking and horseback riding, and of course, you can take the main ski lift to the top.

The road to get to Snowbowl took a long while with our four-cylinder car. We weren't sure what to do when we got there, but asking around helped. Unfortunately, we wanted lessons and we got there at 11:30am. We were an hour and a half late for the first lesson and didn't want to wait another hour and a half for the next one. We decided not to do it. They were nice enough to call the Nordic Center to ask about snowshoeing and cross-country skiing lessons.
