All The Sights are worth seeing

Let how much time you have determine how much of Florence's attractions you can see. While I usually prefer to relax and enjoy the spirit of a city, I also wanted to check out the major sights since this was my first trip to Florence. The Duomo is impressive and amazing, The Uffizi Gallery is everything I had been told, the Ponti Vecchio is old and a total tourist trap. I didn't spend a lot of time doing all the touristy things, but I'm glad I saw what I did.

Traveling during Christmas was magical because I stumbled into many wonderful religious parades and ceremonies, (eventhough I had no idea of the religious or cultural significance of what I was witnessing - it was still magical). Nonetheless, it was interesting. I've included a few pictures of a religious parade I came across. The costumes were amazing.

The Oltrarno

'The other side of the Arno' -- Le Oltraarno, is often referred to as the city's left bank. It has long been the alternative location for artist and artisans for centuries, but escalating costs today are slowly changing the neighborhood's dynamics. The nightlife that revolves around the outdoor bars and restaurants of the tree-shaded Piazza Santa Spirito. If I lived in Florence, I'd want to live in this bohemian area.

Walking tour to the history

Walking tour to the history

I have visited Firenze twice. But both time was sort of a stopover. So, it was two days each. And if I go back Italy again, this time I will definitely spend some more time in Firenze. People say that you can stay at least one week to feel and enjoy its unique beauty.

I have started my tour from Duomo, a fascinating cathedral. Naturally colored stones created the beautiful harmony and as I said earlier you right away know why Italy could present world-famous designers!! How could you be so insensitive about the beauty if you are living in such a beautiful city. =)

In front of Duomo, you can also see the beautiful Baptistery and don't miss the famous 'gates of paradise.'

Little walk from Duomo passing through piazza della Repubblica, you will soon face Piazza Signoria where Palazzo Vecchio and Neptune Fountain or 'Biancone' stands. Around this piazza there are many sculptures and also at Loggia dei Lanzi. You can have a look at the inside of the state apartment which is Palazzo Vecchio.(Only closed on Saturdays) Right next is Uffizzi gallery which probably most famous gallery in Italy. You can find many rooms filled with awesome works. I guess if you are a big art-lover, you can spend whole day in here. And Ponte Vecchio is simply attached to Uffizzi. Unique aspects about this bridge is the rows of small houses along the bridge. It's so cute. This was the most-cover up for the center, I guess. And I forgot the address. But you can also see the Dante museum along your way.
