Xel-Ha

The Mayan word Xel-Ha (pronounced 'Shell-Ha') translates "where the waters are born", which is appropriate. The waters of Xel-Ha combine saltwater from the Caribbean Sea with freshwater from underground rivers of the Yucatan Peninsula. Xel-Ha is a unique natural phenomenon & a protected habitat for regional marine life. The waters of Xel-Ha are pure, clear, fresh, & clean. The jungles of Xel-Ha are a bit mysterious, with walking paths to meander. At Xel-Ha, we enjoyed seeing tropical fish, tropical birds, & several iguanas. Xel-Ha, for me, was a beautiful & memorable experience--especially being able to swim with dolphins.
